Autumn Term 2016
The start of the new academic year and term sees Oak Class take a look at a variety of smaller topics. We will be researching Ancient Greece, comparing Greek myths and legends and writing our very own stories. We will be submerging ourselves in scientific topics such as changing materials, states of matter, electricity and light. We are also becoming architects in computing and using Sketch Up to design our own buildings and rooms.
In literacy, we will be continuing to develop our handwriting, spelling, grammar and punctuation. We will be exploring a variety of written text types and covering multiple texts. We will look in more detail at texts such as Pandora’s Box, Hercules and The Minotaur.
R.E will provides us with an insight to Beautiful World and Wonderful God and we shall continue to improve our musical skills with Liz on Wednesdays. We will also be welcoming back Mr Moores for Spanish on Mondays - Fantástico!
As previously mentioned in Computing we will become architects looking at how to design rooms and buildings to suit the purpose needed.
And finally in Maths we will be focussing on mental calculations and how to use these strategies in everyday life. We will also practice and improve written methods in many aspects of maths. This year we shall also be practice becoming fluent in all of our times tables.
