We believe reading is very important for children. Reading helps children with spellings and opens up their imagination. With the right book children become lost in a world of their imagination.
We have a library system in Oak Class. All children can come and select a book off the shelf to to read in school or to take home. We encourage children to read at home everyday and in return they will earn themselves 3 Dojo points.
In order for children to receive their Dojo points, please ask them to bring their reading records home and sign in the next blank space saying which book they have read and how much. You may want to add a comment into the book about their reading.
Remember reading is not just books! Magazines, newspapers and comics are all brilliant ways to get children reading.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
