This term we warmly welcome 10 new Reception children to Willow class and look forward to getting to know them and their families as they begin their school life here with us.
We have lots of exciting things planned for the next two terms and below, you will find a brief breakdown of them.
Our main topics for the next two terms are based around Science. We shall be learning about Parts of Animals including humans and will be thinking about naming body parts as well as thinking about their functions. We shall also be looking at Changing Seasons which will be on-going throughout the year. This term in particular, we shall be focussing on Autumn and are looking forward to a visit from the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust to teach us about Autumnal changes and creatures that we might find at this time of the year. We shall be getting outside and exploring our outdoor area, collecting natural materials for some printing in art and having a go at building our very own hedgehog homes. Our RE focus will be Our Beautiful World and Our Living World, where we shall think about how we can look after our environment. We shall be harvesting pumpkins from our very own garden to make pumpkin soup and in addition, whilst thinking about our health and wellbeing, create fruit kebabs. We have a visit to Spalding Library planned to promote our love of reading and all children will be able to join and choose a book to bring away with them. Liz will continue to join us for music sessions and Elite will continue to join us for PE sessions. This term will have a focus of Games and Dance.
