This term in Chestnut the children will be finding out about 'Food and Farming'. This is an exciting topic that ties in well with Harvest and the seasons. We have already got big ideas about growing our own plants to find out about the plants that we eat and what makes them grow. We are hoping to make a visit to Tesco in Bourne as part of our topic to find out more about the food on our plates.
This is not the only exciting opportunity Chestnut have this term, as they are also taking part in the National Nutcracker competition run by The Royal Opera House. This is a competition to engage children with dance through the story of The Nutcracker. The theme is 'Transformed by Magic' and the children will be telling their own story, about the theme, though movements and music. This is very exciting and the children are engaged and they cannot wait for the visit to the cinema to watch The Nutcracker being performed.
It is set to be a busy time in Chestnut, so keep up to date with all the news and days below.
