The holiday is over, the children are back and ready for another busy term ahead. I start with Chestnut's Class Assembly, which is on Thursday 1st February. We are looking forward to showing off to you then and to seeing you there.
This term the topic in Chestnut is 'Fun Stuff' and this will be found throughout our learning. The children are looking forward to finding out about the history of toys and working out if they could build their own theme park next to school. This is going to be an exciting topic for them as well as links to 'Fun Stuff' in English and Maths. As well as learning about 'Fun Stuff' the class will also be finding out about skeletons and muscles in Science. Watch this space as it is going to be very busy.
As you know the children in Chestnut are swimming every Wednesday afternoon this term. All of the children will be working towards awards for their swimming. Please make sure earrings are removed and long hair is tied back for swimming.
Monday 5th February
Chestnut went up to the church and they witnessed a christening as part of their R.E. topic. Thank you Rev. Walters for conducting the service, the children really enjoyed the christening of baby Amelia.
Thursday 1st February
Chestnut performed their National Nutcracker Competition piece to the parents for their Class Assembly. This was a very good performance and the children liked receiving their certificates for taking part. Well done to all of you! 😊
