Homework
In Chestnut there is homework set every week. This includes hearing your child read every night and asking questions about their reading to check their understanding, learning the spellings from the Pirate Spelling Book (Year 2) or the Home School Book (Year 3). The Pirate books use Look, Cover, Write, Check where the Home School Books have a space for learning the spellings but practicing them nightly is key to your child learning their spellings. They are assessed with a spelling test on their spelling words and we look for them being spelt correctly in their work. Additionally on a Friday your child will take home a homework task on times tables. This is in line with their expected times tables and will be checked with a times tables test. For writing on the times tables worksheet or any additional homework your child would like to do please make sure it is written neatly in pen or pencil and has a name clearly written on the homework.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
