Welcome to Clough and Risegate Primary School
It is with great delight that I welcome you and your family to our small, friendly school. As one of the pupils said to me in my first week as headteacher here, ‘it is just like being part of a family.’
Primary school provides the foundations and building blocks for our children, helping to develop them into well-rounded, ambitious, enthusiastic young people, who learn to develop many life skills as well as academic skills.
At Clough and Risegate Community Primary School, we strive to ensure that every child is recognised as an individual and their personal efforts and achievements are always celebrated. The dedication and enthusiasm of the staff within the school is tremendous and each and every one of them encourages our pupils to reach their potential and to achieve personal success in all areas.
We strongly believe that every child within the school has a right to express their views and expectations regarding their school and our school council make it their responsibility to ensure that every pupil is actively involved with school life and developing their school.
At Clough and Risegate Community Primary School, we aspire to the ‘TEAM’ vision – where Together Everyone Achieves More, encouraging all members of our school family to always strive to do their best, aim high and celebrate success and this vision underpins all areas of our curriculum.
We pride ourselves in the links we have with our local community, such as the local churches, local primary schools, secondary schools, local sports clubs and various volunteers, who we regularly encourage to be involved in as many aspects of school life as possible thus providing the pupils with a broad range of experiences, which hopefully they will remember for many years to come.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our school.
Mr. Shaun Thompson (B.Med.Sc. M.Ed.)
