Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents
We have just checked the temperature in school and it is already showing an increase from yesterday. On Monday we monitored temperature carefully throughout the day and all children were kept inside and in the coolest parts of the school. Maple and Chestnut Class were moved to the school hall which remained the coolest area all day. The temperature today is predicted to increase further and hit 38 - 40 degrees in the afternoon. To this end, children may be collected at 1pm today to go home, so that we can keep numbers as low as possible and manage remaining children together in the school hall. We understand that this is short notice and that some of our parents will be unable to collect children due to work commitments, so you are more than welcome to keep your child in school but if you are able to collect them, then please do. If you prefer to keep your children at home for the whole day today, then please be assured that this will not affect their attendance. The temperature is predicted to plummet by Wednesday and hopefully all children will be back with us then in order to enjoy the last few days of school before summer break.
Kind regards
Mrs Rooney
Thank you to all the parents and friends of the school who nominated and voted for our lovely, small school at last night's Spalding Guardian Education Awards. Your support is truly amazing and we are so very grateful for everything you all do to make our school so very special and unique.
I'm pleased to inform you that Mr Pollard won the category of
'Eco-Champion of the Year' for his contributions to our Farm 2 Fork project and for supporting the school in our mission to ensure every child knows how to grow and cook healthy foods, keeping us all fit and well.
Ms Williamson won 'TA of the Year' for everything that she does to support our small school and I'm sure you will agree that this list is endless! Every school needs a Ms Williamson!
We were also nominated for 'Primary School of the Year' and I’m pleased to say that we received a ‘Highly Commended’ from the judges in this category.
I'm very proud of our small village school and very proud of how hard all the children, teachers, governors and parents, work together to make this such a safe and special place for our children to thrive in. A truly amazing TEAM.
Thank you so much for taking the time to vote for us - it really means so very much.
Together Everyone Achieves More
Kind regards
Mrs Rooney
