Mrs J. Bowers (Chair of Governors)
I live in Risegate with my husband and daughter and began my term as a Parent Governor in February 2015 when she was in Reception Class. I have run my own accountancy business since 2003, after qualifying as an accountant in practice, and, in my role has Chair of Governors, this allows me to use my experience to support the decisions made in the Resources Committee particularly. As a Governor I am fully committed to ensuring that every child receives the best possible education to help them reach their full potential. I hold responsibility for English, Reading and SEND. I am also a member of the PTA which allows me to contribute to some of the more social aspects of our school family. As Chair of Governors, I am always happy to be contacted.
Mrs J. Mitchell (Vice Chair of Governors)
I joined the Governing Body in September 2016. I believe that every child should receive the best possible education and it was a privilege to be invited to join the Governors of this friendly and welcoming school. I have lived in Gosberton Risegate since 2007. Previously I was employed as a manager by a firm of chartered accountants in their tax department. As a Governor, my responsibility is for Maths and I sit on and Chair the Resources sub-committee, but I also help in other areas of school life. I can be contacted via the school office.
Mrs R. Hollings
When my grandchildren were at the Clough School my daughter was a Parent Governor and it was through her that I helped with the reading scheme. When I retired from teaching I became Governor and have now been involved with the school for many years. I have responsibility for overseeing Religious Education and Food Standards. I enjoy helping in all areas of school life as I find the children and staff very friendly and welcoming. I can be contacted via the school Office.
Ms P. Matier-Dean (Safeguarding & Prevent Governor)
I have been part of the governing body since 2014. Both of my children attended Clough and Risegate, they really enjoyed being part of the school family and learning in such a wonderful environment. I sit on the Standards Committee and am also responsibility for monitoring Safeguarding.
If you would like to contact me you can do so via the school, I am happy to chat or assist parents wherever possible.
Mrs F Shaw (Health & Safety Governor)
I became a governor for Clough and Risegate in October 2019 after having built experience working in schools for more than 10 years. My experience predominantly lies in Special Educational Needs and Health & Wellbeing, having also trained as a Holistic Therapist.
I have two children who attend the school and I have previously worked in school myself when I worked towards an apprenticeship at the age of 17. The school community shares a piece of my heart and as wellbeing governor I am available to assist families via the school office should anyone need any support.
I sit on the Standards Committee and have responsibility for Health and Safety.
Mr D Dickinson
I have lived in the village all of my life, working on our family farm for the last forty-five years. I attended the Clough and Risegate Primary School in the early 1960’s and have watched the many changes that have taken place since then. Having been involved in village life for many years through the Young Farmers Club and the Church, I look forward to this new challenge of being a Governor, with the responsibilities and opportunities it presents.
I have responsibility for PE/SPG and sit on the resources sub-committee.
I can always be contacted through the school.
Mrs J Brigginshaw
I am a retired nurse. I have lived locally for most of my life and attended Gosberton Clough and Risegate Primary school as a pupil. I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Since retiring I have been a founder member of the Gosberton and Quadring Good Neighbour Scheme and also have links with the Clough Methodist chapel. I fully support the school's strong community focus. I sit on the Resource Committee and have responsibility for Science.
Miss J Tyers (Staff Governor)
I am new to the role of Staff Governor but look forward to taking on this new role and opportunity to continue to support our small school in other ways. I find the workings of the school very interesting and I am here to act as a representative of the staff but also to help the Governors with their roles and responsibilities. I sit on the Standards Committee.
