Mrs J. Bowers (Parent Governor and Chair of Governors)
I live in Risegate with my husband and daughter and began my term as a Parent Governor in February 2015 when she was in Reception Class. I have run my own accountancy business since 2003, after qualifying as an accountant in practice, and, in my role has Chair of Governors, this allows me to use my experience to support the decisions made in the Resources Committee particularly. As a Governor I am fully committed to ensuring that every child receives the best possible education to help them reach their full potential. I hold responsibility for Maths. I am also a member of the PTA which allows me to contribute to some of the more social aspects of our school family. As Chair of Governors, I am always happy to be contacted.
Rev. I Walters (Authority Governor and Vice Chairman of the Governors)
I think our village schools can be a wonderful start to a child’s education and firmly believe that this school is amongst the very best. I am really impressed by how much the pupils enjoy learning here and by the abilities and enthusiasm of the staff. Amongst the many areas involved in school life and the curriculum, I take a special interest in Maths as well as RE. For me it was a wonderful privilege and opportunity to be invited to be a governor at Clough and Risegate, and I am determined to try to do my very best for the school. As current Vice-Chair of Governors I am always happy to be contacted.
Mrs R. Hollings (Co-opted Governor)
When my grandchildren were at the Clough School my daughter was a Parent Governor and it was through her that I helped with the reading scheme. When I retired from teaching I became Governor and have now been involved with the school for many years. I have responsibility for overseeing Science and Food Standards. I enjoy helping in all areas of school life as I find the children and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Mrs J. Mitchell (Co-opted Governor)
I joined the Governing Body in September 2016. I believe that every child should receive the best possible education and it was a privilege to be invited to join the Governors of this friendly and welcoming school. I have lived in Gosberton Risegate since 2007. Previously I was employed as a manager by a firm of chartered accountants in their tax department. As a Governor, my responsibility is for English and Food Standards and I sit on the Resources sub-committee, but I also help in other areas of school life.
Ms P. Matier-Dean (Parent Governor)
I started my term as a Parent Governor in April 2014. I live in Gosberton Clough with my partner and two children, both children currently attend Clough and Risegate. My children really enjoy being part of the school family and learning in such a wonderful environment. As a member of the Standards Committee I am keen to give a parental perspective to discussions and decisions made at our school to ensure its continued success and allow our school and the children to be the very best they can be. I am the Safeguarding Governor. If you would like to contact me you can do so via the school, I am happy to chat or assist other parents or members of the community at the school wherever possible.
Mrs C. Hazlehurst (Staff Governor)
I have been a Staff Governor for several years and find the work of the Governing Body very interesting. I am here to act as a representative of the staff but also to help the Governors with their roles and responsibilities. I sit on the Standards Committee.
