Our Eco Warriors play a vital role in promoting the education of looking after the planet within our school and ensuring all pupils are active participants in our mission to become more eco-friendly. Throughout the curriculum, planned national days and competitions, each child is supported in understanding the issues our world faces and how they can become good citizens in having positive impacts to reduce such issues.
Chestnut Class have been learning all about food miles and how this can effect climate change. We researched where different foods may come from and how they then get to us in the UK. After this, this children had good discussions about the use of our Polytunnel and growing food local to reduce the air mileage.
Take a look at some of our blogs about food miles below.
Groups of children have been looking after our local community by going on litter picks and learnt about the impacts of litter on wildlife.
We think they are litter legends!
Keep up the good work!
We have been learning about looking after our local wildlife and the importance of birds. To support our local wildlife we have made our own bird feeders.
