Term 5 seemed to fly by but Term 6 has got off to a great start! We began the term by sharing the story of ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ with Reception and children took part in a sound walk and there was great role play in the outdoor area.
Our trip to Peterborough Museum to complete our learning about ‘Toys Old and New’ was a great success and children got to explore old toys and learn about some of the precious exhibits that the museum has. All children made a pop up toy and took part in the toy trail too.
We took part in International Dough Disco to celebrate 13 years of Dough Disco and also a special birthday for Shonette! Dough disco continues to be a daily activity that we participate in.
The first day of Small Schools Week has also gone well with children learning about the plight of refugees. In Willow Class, we shared a story and some news clips. We talked lots about how we should be kind and children were quick to realise how lucky they felt to be safe in school and with their families. We also made a Ukrainian Apple Cake which we shall be tasting tomorrow as it needed a little longer in the oven!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
