Here you will find extra bits that will support your child with their school work. 

Blogging

If you have been up to something really exciting or just been out for something to eat please write it down in the blogging section of the website. This is a vital for your child's digital literacy, as they will be developing their typing skills, as well as reinforcing their sentence knowledge with capital letters and full stops. Every week Mrs Rooney or Miss Robinson will be looking at the blogs to see what you have been up to, so don't forget to add to it each week. Login details can be found in the front of your child's Reading Record Book.

  • TTRockstars This is here to support your child with the learning of their times tables. There are different activities, some are set by the class teacher and some are generated for all of the times tables. There is a mix of multiplication and division facts for your child to have a go at.The login details for your child can be found stuck into the front of the Reading Record Book
  • Multiplication Mashup This is the complete list of songs that your child will be learning as they learn their times tables. At Year 2 your child only needs to learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. If they are confident with these then please help them with the 3 and 4 times table songs too.
  • Hit the Button This is a game that helps reinforce the quick recall of mathematical facts around number bonds, doubling and halving and multiplication and division. How many answers can you get right in a minute?
  • Reading Eggs This is a subscription where your child can practice their reading and sounds. They have books and games that they can access online. If you look in the front of the Reading Record Book then you will find the Reading Eggs Login details for your child.
  • Story Starters for Creative Writing This is a great online resource to help your child to write creatively for different purposes. Your child can choose the genre and then they get some ideas to support them typing a story. The skill of typing is important and time creating a story is important to help your child think creatively and write freely.

Spelling Year 1 and 2 Common Exception Words

Common Exception Words are words that do not follow a pattern or phonic rule. This means your child should know how to spell most of these words by the end of Year 2. This list has the complete list for Year 1 and 2 words. If you have the time to support your child in learning these it would be really appreciated.
