Term 5 & 6
Plants
Today, we have been exploring the different parts of a plant and their function. The class did an excellent job in labelling each part, with some writing a definition of what that part does. We then got to plant each of these in our garden to watch flower over the coming months.
KAPLA Workshop
What an excellent day! We have been exploring making structures whilst working together as a team. Chestnut Class worked incredibly well together in making their crocodiles and octopi. They all worked as a team using positive language, encouragement and teamwork.
PSHE
In PSHE, we have had a focus on 'National Smile Month'. Here, we have discussed the importance of looking after our teeth and how to do this. We have carried out an experiment to see what certain drinks do to our teeth and to find the healthiest option. Whilst carrying this out, we had a good discussion about working Scientifically and ensuring it was a fair test by using the same amount of liquids and the same type of egg. There was some brilliant teamworking displayed!
