Welcome back to term 5! We hope that you all had a lovely break during the Easter holidays, and are now ready for the summer term - we can't quite believe that we have reached this point of the academic year already!
We have lots planned for the next two terms, and week one saw us very busy indeed with a visit to our friends John and Elaine at Willowbridge Sheep in Boston as part of our Farm to Fork work. Reception children teamed up with Year 6 to visit the new baby lambs, one of which was only born at 6am that very morning! All of the lambs were very cute indeed. Some of us were able to help with bottle feeding, and filling buckets up with fresh water for the sheep and their lambs to drink. We also said hello to the chickens, and brought some of their eggs back to school!
We also took part in an exciting KAPLA workshop which used all of our thinking and building skills. Together as a class, we created the little buildings, then added a river, trees and swimming pools to build our village. This village was then added to throughout the day by the other classes. We then got the opportunity to come back after school to help demolish and pack away our creations.
We have begun Term 6 with a great trip to Lincoln Cathedral, to explore their Discovery Centre and the Cathedral itself. We learnt about a Christian wedding and took part in a wedding ceremony ourselves with the Owl and the Pussycat saying their vows. We looked at some of the artefacts around the Cathedral learning about what they were used for, and taking the amazing stained glass windows and ceilings! A great trip indeed, with lots of lovely comments received about how well behaved and interested Willow Class were. Very proud of you all!
