Tapestry is available for your iPhone, iPad, Android and some Amazon Fire devices allowing you to have up to date information about your child's learning. As well as us leaving pictures and notes, there is the function for you too to contribute to your child's portfolio by replying to comments or even upload pictures yourself showing what your child is getting up to at home.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Handbook states that:
'Teachers should also actively engage children, their parents and other adults who have significant interaction with the child in the assessment process. This will provide a rounded picture of the child’s development. A teacher’s relationship with parents is especially crucial when working with children from different cultural backgrounds, as parents can help practitioners understand the values that explain their child’s responses to the environment and social situations.'
It is vitally important to gain insights into the children's achievements outside of school and an important part of our school culture being a small, friendly, family orientated primary school.
We will be sending out further information and permission slips for our new EYFS children shortly so please look out for these so that we can get you up and running with your child's online Learning Journal. Many thanks.
