In Year 1, we have been focussing on the different letter formation. The booklet below goes through the different families of letters and examples of 'All Around Letters' and 'Zig zag letters' etc.
Pick a couple of letters each session and focus on those. Ensure children are working hard to maintain their 'Perfect Pencil Grip' and that they are thinking about the relative size of the letters. In class, I would model with a green pen and children then complete a row. You don't have to use a green pen, but the modelling is important. You may need to use the ditty learned for each letter which can be found under the Phonics icon on the main Willow Class page. Children can write this in the blue book supplied and write in the pencil supplied too.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
