This year, we have our EYFS children in Willow Class. The class teacher is Mrs Hazlehurst and she is supported by Miss Dean. We aim to keep you updated with any upcoming events through our class page. This will now take the place of our former ‘Class Newsletter’ and will inform you upon homework, learning within the classroom and other school matters.
Please remember should you need to inform us of anything we are always available on ‘Class Dojo’ or through the school enquiries email.
We work hard with the children to support their developing language skills, through plenty of opportunities for speaking, listening, understanding, and expanding vocabulary, through role play activities, rhymes, stories and songs. This helps establish a secure foundation for phonics, and learning to read, write, count and calculate, using real-life contexts. We also help develop their imagination and motivational skills by providing a stimulating environment in which every child can learn, whether they have an adult working with them or not.
We ensure that all children in Willow class receive provision which is planned to tap into their individual interests, as well as being linked to our class topic. Across the year, we are working towards the Early Learning Goals, helping children achieve a Good Level of Development at the end of the academic year.
