Willow Class is a mix of Reception and Year 1. The class teacher is Mrs Hazlehurst and she is supported by Miss Dean and Miss Inkley.
We work hard with the children to support their developing language skills, through plenty of opportunities for speaking, listening, understanding, and expanding vocabulary, through role play activities, rhymes, stories and songs. This helps establish a secure foundation for phonics, and learning to read, write, count and calculate, using real-life contexts. We also help develop their imagination and motivational skills by providing a stimulating environment in which every child can learn, whether they have an adult working with them or not.
We ensure that all children in Willow class receive provision which is planned to tap into their individual interests, as well as being linked to our class topic. We also ensure that we deliver both the Foundation and Year 1 curricula. This year we are working very closely with our neighbouring Year 2 class, forming a KS1 base.
