The Board of Governors
Our Governing Body has three core purposes:
In order to achieve these directives, our Governing Body comprises of volunteers from all areas of our local and wider community.
Presently, we have two Parent Governors, a Local Authority Governor, three Co-opted Governors, a Staff Governor and the Head Teacher:
Parent Governors: Mrs Daisy Cunnington (Vice Chair) and Mr Matthew Strange
Local Authority Governor: Mrs Jan Mitchell (Chair)
Co-opted Governors: Mrs Paula Matier-Dean, Mrs Ruth Hollings and Mr David Dickinson
Staff Governor: Ms Denise Williamson
Headteacher: Mrs Beverley Rooney
By utilising the skills and knowledge of these people, we are in a strong position to support the pupils and staff when creating and sustaining a happy and successful learning environment for everybody here at Clough & Risegate Primary School.
We meet as a Governing Body six times per year, with individual governors making other visits into school to ensure that we are involved with both the management of resources and the maintenance of standards and well-being at the school.
Our role is very varied from helping to make decisions about budget allocation, health and safety where the school buildings are concerned, to monitoring subject delivery across the curriculum.
The most rewarding aspect of being a Governor of Clough & Risegate Primary School is seeing the pupils happy and safe, both in the learning environment and out at play. The staff are relaxed and cheerful whilst at the same time knowing that as a team we are all working towards one goal: ensuring that each individual child maximises their potential and leaves Clough & Risegate Primary School having had a very positive primary school experience.
